Project Description:

Aspirus Keweenaw is a non-profit, community-directed healthcare organization based in Laurium, Michigan with clinics and outreach services in Laurium, Houghton and Lake Linden. Aspirus Keweenaw is part of the Aspirus Inc. exclusive hospital and clinic network and is a rural, critical access hospital with 25 beds.

The scope of this project involves the expansion of and renovations to the existing Keweenaw Hospital facility in Laurium, Michigan. Top priorities include a new Emergency Department, ICU, Radiology, renovations to the existing Pre-Post Op space, and significant plant, infrastructure, and MEP equipment upgrades. In addition to the hospital expansion and renovation, the scope of this project also includes the construction of a new 19,727 SF clinic to be built on Aspirus-owned property in Houghton, MI. The project will be broken into 2 phases: the clinic project (breaking ground on September 23, 2013) and the hospital project (breaking ground spring 2014).
